Downloading onto SD Card problems and ActiveSync Problems?
My original desktop computer internet is a standard dial up (56K). So when I want to get a large download I will use my HP iPAQ H4350 Series using WLAN. The WLAN can download a 131MB file in about an hour and a half (big difference compared to dial up). Recently when I want to download something that big (in the hundred MBs) it will either stop right at the end or will stop after a certain amount of SD Card space was used. There would still be a lot of space left on the card for it to continue. The file im trying to download is the Halo Trial which is about 130MB. The other file is a world of warcraft 474MB patch. My plan is to download one, sync it onto my desktop,delete the file off the SD, then do the same with the other file. both are being downloaded onto a 512MB SD card. My other problem is that if I do get a file(s) that large i will put my iPAQ into its cradle and try to activesync it. It will only get so far until it says the pocket pc was disconnected when it wasn't.
I don't know too much about the first half of the problem, except to say that this is a common complaint with some PocketPC/Windows Mobile devices that I've heard.
I'm more worried about the second part of your plan as I've yet to meet anyone who's had much luck passing large data files between device and PC via an ActiveSync connection. Generally, ActiveSync doesn't cope very well with this and the file transfer drops out mid way through...which seems to be what you're seeing.
My only experience with this is in trying to put large files onto a card in my device from a PC rather than the other way around, but I think the same problem looks to hold.
From what I understand, giving up on an ActiveSync transfer and getting a card reader for the PC is the only solution that works.
