How to connect a headset to a landline?
First of all, I am not that proficient in this domain, but I will try to explain as best as I can. I have a normal headset with microfone, that has 2 jacks. I think the standard is called 3.5. I want to connect this to a telephone on a landline, which has a handset with that sort of curly wire. I am not sure, but that kind of wire has a plug of some "RJ" standard, probably RJ11. I have also found on wikipedia something about RJ9 or 4P4C. This could be it too. What I want to know is if these two standards are compatible and if yes, if there is a device which can connect the two. In other words, is there anything I can plug my earphones with the two jacks into, and then plug that device into my phone? Thnaks for answes in advance.
PS: I want to know if this way it will be cheaper than to just buy the headset with the appropriate plug.
Buy a headset pecifically made for the landline phone instead - the one with the RJ9 cord. Or you can buy the handsfree kit for the telephone.
